Top 205 of 2005

15 December 2005 :: By Vin Driscoll

Don’t know how much science went into this (OK, probably none), but today’s Pulse section in the NY Post lists the top 205 best songs to download from 2005. They don’t really elaborate much so I’m kinda confused: Do they mean best, as in best quality, best value, best as in most popular, or just their opinion as best and favorite tunes? Eh, who knows.

Regardless, it’s a pretty eclectic mix of artists including Neil Young, Bloodhound Gang, Eminem, The Concretes and Ryan Adams, just to name a few. Anyway, if you’ve got a few minutes, check it out, but I must warn you: NY Post registration, though free, does take a few minutes so you hafta be patient. But it’s a cool list with tons of artists I’ve never even heard of (Artic Monkeys? Huh?!)

  4. The Arctic Monkeys are overrated. You should read music blogs instead of newspapers to get decent music recommendations.

  5. fellow crapmate. surely you don’t intend on posting something like that without at least a few example links. hook a brutha up.

  6. …and that’s why the Post isn’t exactly world-renowned for it’s art coverage.
