Nip/Tuck Season 2, Disc 2
Christian fights for his adopted son and Sean has a near-death experience which prolongs his neverending midlife crisis in this block of three episodes. Meanwhile, Julia finally releases the secret she’s been holding onto for 17 years, and Matt gets a life coach (Famke Janssen). Spoilers after the jump.
The theme stringing these three episodes together is fatherhood…what makes a father, what a father should provide, and what significance biology has, if any. Through arbitration, Christian loses his son Wilbur to his biological father. His devistation prompts Julia to finally tell Christian that he is Matt’s real father, not her husband Sean. Sean survives a car accident with only a cut, but it pushes him to adopt a new daredevil lifestyle…dangerous for Sean at least. He goes on a chaperoned cruise with sharks, he contemplates getting a new car other than an Audi, and he eats the poisonous blowfish at a fancy sushi place.
Matt continues to live a live every 17 year old boy would kill for, not including the soul crushing ordeal of nearly killing a classmate in a marijuana induced hit and run. Last season he had a few threesomes with the WB’s Sophia Bush, and now he’s seducing his life coach played by Jean Grey herself. Christian finds out about their illicit relationship and attempts to put a stop to it, his new father indignation spuring him on. Unfortunately for Christian, Famke has a thing for young guys…guys about the age as her son. I can only imagine how this story arc will end…I’ve seen the stills of Famke and Julia kissing already.
Also, did you know that diet pop leaves formaldahyde in your system, actually preventing weight loss? I’m off of Diet Coke as of now. You just have to hear this stuff from a doctor you trust…
